Millipedes Construction Walk
This month the construction work on the new University of Leeds building on Mount Preston Street got properly underway, and our children have been absolutely fascinated by the range of diggers, cranes, and drills that have appeared on site. Today a group of Millipedes children went to take a closer look.
They had a walk around the corner of the building to get a proper look at what was going on, and discussed what they could see, hear and smell. They then drew their observations on paper, and onto the floor using colourful chalk.
The construction workers quickly spotted the group and were kind enough to give them some extra high visibility jackets and hats, and had a chat with the children about construction site safety and why they wear jackets and hard hats!
