Introducing the children to ‘M62’ (East, West)
This week we launched our Arty Beginnings Project and introduced our Grasshoppers and Dragonflies to the chosen piece of art ‘M62 East, West’ by Mike Nelson.
As a group, we examined photographs of the piece, discussing its appearance, texture, and the materials used. The children were eager to share their observations, commenting on the visible textures and the way the materials were assembled.
This discussion inspired us to create our own interpretations of the artwork by using circular motions with paint, forming patterns with round loose items, and painting rubber materials such as tyres!
